Dress Your Home for Success

he condition of your property will have a lot to do with the selling price and how quickly your home will sell. Think about what you do when you sell a car; a thorough cleaning, a wax and polish, you make it look its best. The buyer knows you have done this, but can't help being influenced. The buyer will believe that the car has been well taken care of and the maintenance has been done. Your home deserves the same treatment.

What can you do to make your home have "curb appeal"? You can start by asking your agent for suggestions. If there are minor repairs that you could perform easily, or perhaps some cosmetic upgrades that will make your home more appealing, you agent will discuss these improvements with you.

"The main goal is to make your home more appealing than
the other houses on the market."

To get the best results, you need not spend a great deal of money. Except in rare instances, you should not invest much cash in improving your house. Eliminate major improvements from your plans. But be prepared to spend some time and money to spruce up the place. Other than cleaning supplies, your best investment is probably paint. Light neutral shades are your best choices. Don't get too fancy, just try to harmonize with your furniture.

Below is a small checklist for each area of the house, get the entire family to help and you will be able to get "top dollar" for your home.
